The Harrison
The Harrison is a historic ivy-entrenched apartment building in Seattle that was designed to house working women. there are hardwood floors, heavy crown moldings outlining plaster walls, original brass light fixtures, and built-in bookshelves outfitted with a secretary desk and glass doors. In each kitchen, an original porcelain sink sits below a window.
I was hired by Tess Dickman, a Spencer de Mille Traveling Fellow and award-winning interior designer, to photograph her apartment in The Harrison; through the images, we sought to explore how the built environment can foster a sense of belonging.
